About SteelCutList
SteelCutList is a free cutting list optimiser for steel fabricators and construction companies: one page for bar lengths and one for plate nesting, with a PDF the workshop can use straight away.
Why it exists
Most free cut list tools are made for timber and sheet goods. Steel jobs mix universal beams, columns, angles, hollow sections, flat bar and plate, every part carries a label from the shop drawings, and the cutting list has to survive being printed and taken to the saw or the plasma table. SteelCutList was built to handle that: sections kept apart, part labels kept all the way to the printed sheet, saw kerf and trims allowed for, and the order quantities worked out for you.
Who is behind it
SteelCutList is an independent project built by a project manager working in structural steel fabrication in Australia. The tools come from day-to-day work on fabrication projects, where a clear cutting list saves material, time and mistakes on the floor.
How it works
Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing you type or import is uploaded or stored, so the tools are fast and your job details stay private. The site is free to use and is supported by advertising.
